How much of the world’s money in Bitcoin?

Since its launch in 2009, Bitcoin has ushered in a new era of blockchain technology and digital currencies. 13 years have passed and it would seem that the share of Bitcoin in the world market is very significant. But is it really so?

We will calculate the total value of Bitcoin first. Now there are approximately 18.7 million bitcoins valued at $43,000, giving a market capitalization (the total value of all of Bitcoin outstanding shares) of approximately over $1.03 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap.

And how much money in the world?
If you take into account all stocks, gold, silver and other precious metals, physical cash in circulation plus deposits, real estate, other forms of investment, global debt and financial derivatives, the total wealth of the world will exceed 1 quadrillion dollars.

Assuming that this quadrillion roughly represents the total value of assets in the world, bitcoin is 0.1% of all existing wealth.

On a global scale, the value of bitcoins seems insignificant. But many investors view Bitcoin as digital gold and a free market alternative to central banks. That’s why the value of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in the world’s market will only rise.
