Bringing NFTs to the forefront of Art: Centre Pompidou displays CryptoPunks & Autoglyphs

Exciting news for the art world! The Centre Pompidou, a renowned modern art museum in France, is set to showcase NFTs from top digital artists in its upcoming permanent exhibition. The museum has acquired works from 13 artists across the world, including popular NFTs like CryptoPunk #110 and Autoglyph #25.

The director of the French National Museum of Modern Art, Xavier Rey, notes that the museum is “pursuing its interest in digital art, in connection with the blockchain” and supports artists in their exploration of new means of expression, which is at the heart of modern art.

While the NFT hype may have cooled down over the past year, the Centre Pompidou’s exhibition is a testament to how digital art can be accepted and appreciated for its impact and modern relevance. Despite the overall market downturn and a 83% YoY decrease in NFT sales, the NFT space still has potential for growth and impact in the art world.
