Luxury fashion brand Gucci has teamed up with renowned NFT issuer Yuga Labs to extend its presence in the metaverse through a partnership that caught the attention of the crypto community.
The partnership will see Gucci work within Yuga Labs’ Otherside metaverse, and its 10KTF collection. The move could bring the fashion brand closer to Otherside as both companies work on joining the metaverse and fashion.
Gucci is no stranger to the metaverse world and recently partnered with the popular Roblox platform to create a virtual world called the Gucci Garden. The luxury brand also launched NFT collections, purchased virtual land in The Sandbox metaverse and accepted crypto payments in select stores.
This year’s Metaverse Fashion Week, which started on March 28, will have several major brands participating, including Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Adidas, Coach, and Tommy Hilfiger, alongside digital fashion brands like DressX and The Fabricant. Events are set to occur in Decentraland, a virtual reality platform built on the Ethereum blockchain, and will now also be accessible on the metaverse platform Spatial.
