$350 million lies somewhere on the British landfill

Newport programmer James Howells bought 7,500 bitcoins in 2009 for $6. In 2013, he spilled a drink on a laptop and sent it in for repair. And the hard drive, where the information about the Cryptocurrency was stored, was just thrown away.

In 2013, Bitcoins on disk were worth about $7.5 million, and now they are more than $350 million.

Howells believes that the hard drive is somewhere in the city dump, and he has repeatedly asked the city authorities to allow him to conduct excavations. In an interview with the BBC, James said that he was ready to donate 25% of the value of Bitcoins to his hometown if he finds a hard drive.

However, the authorities do not give him permission. But the programmer already knew who he would turn to to find the hard drive. And the cost of the excavation is compensated by anonymous investors in exchange for a part of the Bitcoins.
